Evil Eye

The evil eye is a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye will cause misfortune and injury. All the talismans created are basically for fighting fire with fire because they are called the ‘evil eye’ too. People with green eyes were said to be the main perpetrators of this misfortune, so they are said to be ‘green with envy’.

Most researchers, that have no idea what they are talking about, say that the evil eye and the all-seeing eye are the same thing. Just like all the other misinformation about the all-seeing eye, this is ridiculous. I have shown in my Magic post what the all-seeing eye actually represents. The evil eye is in so many cultures, but where does it originate. Why does Jesus talk about the evil eye in the bible? Why is the evil eye considered blue?

Just like everything else in western culture, the evil eye originated in Egypt. The Eye of Ra is usually assigned to female deities. Most often they are Ra’s daughters. The best known are Hathor, Sekhmet, Wadjet, Mut, Bastet, Nekhebet, and Tefnut. In all guises the female Eye of Ra tends to be vengeful to Ra’s enemies. One of the best known stories associated with the Eye of Ra is the myth about how Ra’s human subjects rebel. When Ra became old some of his subjects rebelled against him. Ra responded by sending his Eye, in the form or Hathor, to punish his enemies. Hathor, a peaceful deity, took the form of Sekhmet, a powerful lioness goddess of war and vengeance. In the form of the Eye, Sekhmet was so vengeful she nearly destroyed humanity. Ra was forced to conspire against his daughter in order to prevent the annihilation of the human race. Successful, but exhausted, he relinquished his throne and assigned the task of teaching wisdom to the human race to Thoth. Hathor raised Ra to the skies where he became the sun.

Later on the Eye of Ra became the Eyes of Horus. Horus has a battle with Set and Set steals his eyes. Set was not considered evil until the Hyksos Egyptians made him evil. Set represents chaos and conflict in one’s life. To the early Egyptians this was necessary to start the wake up process. The Hyksos did not want people waking up, so they made Set evil. Horus gets his eyes back and they represent the sun(red) and the moon(blue). The sun was Ra and the lunar eye was Wedjat. Wedjat means whole, complete or restored and it became adopted as the general description for all representations of they Eye of Horus. This is why the evil eye is blue, not because blue-eyed people are evil.

What is the connection with Judaeo-Christianity? First there is the Hand of Miriam. Most people believe this is the hand of Moses’ sister. Most would be wrong. This is the hand of Mary Magdalen or Mary the Virgin. The upright stylized form of the hand is actually a ‘open lotus’ pillar. This design can be seen throughout ancient Egypt, it is the djed pillar with the Eye of Horus or the Wadjat eye on it. The lotus is the lily and it represents the bloodline of Egyptian royalty(see Roses, Lilies and Water). The hand of Fatima is just a copy of the hand of Mariam. Mohammed, real name Lothar Schmalfuss, was a pope reject that wanted to be just like the biblical Jesus. This was one of the ways he tried to imitate him. He also dyed his hair to make it look red because like I have said all along, Jesus and all Pharaohs of Egypt had red hair.

Everyone one thinks that Jesus talking about the evil eye in the bible was telling one not to be evil or envious. Truth is that Jesus was educated in Egypt. He was a MAGICIAN. Check out the book Jesus the Magician by Morton Smith. He understood how magic worked, but why did he talk about the evil eye? If you have read Patriarch Pharaohs, you know the Israelites(Jews) were the Hyksos. Jewish beliefs and customs are Hyksos Egyptian beliefs and customs. Jewish belief in the evil eye has resulted in certain community safeguards to prevent it occurring. For instance, rather than taking a census and thus opening some people to jealousy because they have large families, it was long the custom for each person to simply pay a sheckel (a small coin) to the census taker and let the coins be counted rather than peoples names written down. Preventing jealousy over the size of a family is also at the root of another Jewish custom, that of not allowing a father and son to be called successively to the reading of the Torah in Synagogue. This goes back to Egypt with the Hyksos secretly trying to get the throne back from the ruling Upper Egyptian Pharaohs. Jesus and his royal family in Edessa were getting bigger and bigger. He must have been dealing with quite a bit of jealousy. The true goal of the biblical family was to grow big enough to take over all of Rome. A goal that ultimately failed and they were hated for starting the Jewish War. The common name for the evil eye in Turkish, Arabic and Urdu is ‘nazar’. This name is derived from the Nazarene Galilean sect, the sect that Jesus belonged to(see His Royal Jesus).
